Case StudiesFulton County SchoolsSituation With the population of the metro Atlanta area growing so rapidly, many areas are struggling to keep up with the school population. Fulton County is no exception, and has had to build several new schools in the past couple of years. Since new schools are built as needed, the turn around time for completion is usually quick, therefore ‘time is of the essence’. Fulton County Schools hired a Construction Manager to build three schools: Centennial High School, Freemanville High School, and Autry Mill Middle School. This work was performed over a three-year period and the same project team worked on all three schools. When the project team requested a bid for the HVAC Systems, the contract was awarded based on price, performance, and method of implementation. The schools provided two special variables for companies to consider when developing a bid: The amount of material needed to build the systems and the workforce needed to complete the projects on time and on budget. Solution Conditioned Air Systems was able to provide a competitive bid for the school project thanks to their team of professional technicians and their fully automated sheet metal fabrication shop. Conditioned Air Systems has a great advantage over other heating and cooling companies because of their proficient sheet metal shop. They produce and manufacture all their own sheet metal and ductwork in house, allowing them to easily customize each job. In addition to supplying quality materials in a timely manner, Conditioned Air Systems employs qualified technicians to install the systems. The technicians are able to adapt to each individual situation and work as a team with the other contractors to complete the job on time, even under the tightest time restraints. Results Conditioned Air Systems worked as part of the project team on the Fulton County schools, and was able to complete each project in time for the new school season to begin. The schools received efficient, quality HVAC systems for a competitive price. (top) |
