Situation
The Southern Company Energy Solutions is committed to helping energy consumers save money and precious energy resources. One of the Southern Company’s services is providing an energy audit team to review a company’s energy usage and determine how they can save money.

After a review of the Hall County school system’s energy usage, the Southern Company audit team determined several key areas they needed to adjust in order to save money. Mainly, many of the schools had older, outdated HVAC systems that could be updated with more efficient systems.

Solution
The Southern Company Energy Solutions team helped the Hall County schools develop a bid process to retain a vendor to complete the work. Conditioned Air Systems has become known as a quality contractor with a stellar reputation. Their trusted reputation and competitive bid earned them the Hall County School’s contract.

Conditioned Air Systems worked with the Hall County Schools and the Southern Company over a two-year period. They worked on the HVAC systems during summer and holiday breaks. Many of the existing Hall County schools were updated with more energy efficient HVAC systems

Results
The Hall County School System had a limited budget and a constrained time frame in which the work could be done. Conditioned Air Systems’ quality technicians were able to work around the school schedule. Also, their in-house metal fabrication shop saved the schools a great deal of money on materials.

Mainly, The Southern Company’s energy audit coupled with Conditioned Air Systems’ improvements saved the school system a lot of money on energy costs and also less maintenance cost than what was experienced with the older equipment. (top)
