More Than Just Heaters & Air Conditioners
While we pride ourselves on gold-standard installation, service, and repair work of the main components of HVAC – heating and air conditioning units – there is so much more to quality HVAC.
We consider all angles of HVAC, which is why we ensure that all of our customers have access to fully functional ventilation and quality air. That means that we offer:
Aeroseal Duct Sealing – We can rehab old ducts with an award-winning, simple procedure that safely eliminates leaks and inefficient systems, ensuring that all of your air is delivered exactly where you want it. And Conditioned Air is the only Aeroseal dealer in north Georgia.
Air Duct Cleaning Services – Let us ensure that your ducts are not recycling dirty or compromised air that is full of mold, mildew, or pollens.
Air Purification Systems – The latest developments in HVAC allow you to breathe air that has been cleansed of all possible pathogens – including viruses, bacteria, and fungi – not to mention eliminating any mold, mildew, or pollens, as well as unwanted odors, with next generation technology.
In House Fabrication – By manufacturing our own ductwork, we can keep costs low and pass those savings on to you.
Furnace Installation – Let us install a smart-technology furnace guaranteed to keep you warm through even the coldest winter.
Generator Installation – If your home loses power not even the best HVAC system in the world can keep you comfortable. A built-in generator will keep your power running no matter what’s happening outside your home.
Upgrade an Older System
If you find your HVAC is not providing you with the comfort it once did – or you know it is at least 10 years or older, it may be time for a new system. And if that is the case, you may find yourself wondering exactly what you will need to maintain the comfort you once did without breaking the bank.
There is no need for concern. Yes, the technological advancements of HVAC can leave your head swimming, but that is why we sit down with our customers to walk them through each and every step of what they need and what their comfort and financial parameters include.
Conditioned Air Systems’ residential HVAC team will conduct a thorough evaluation of your home to determine the optimum system and necessary parts for you. After design, fabrication, and installation of your new or upgraded system, we guarantee all parts and labor and even offer around-the-clock emergency service. A regular service visit from a Conditioned Air Systems NATE certified technician is your best guarantee of keeping your system running at peak efficiency – as well as protection from unwanted repairs.
But when and if problems do occur, we have a series of basic check points to help you diagnose the problem before we arrive.
Below are some things you can do to prevent future equipment troubles and increase your system’s efficiency.
NOTE: Before undertaking any examination of your system, be sure the power is off to any piece of equipment you are examining.
One of the most important components in your heating and cooling system is the filter, and it’s the most inexpensive and easiest to replace. Especially during the peak hot and cold seasons, monthly inspections are a good rule of thumb for checking the air filter to ensure it is clean. A dirty filter can restrict airflow and cause excessive wear and tear on your equipment. Make sure to replace a dirty filter with the exact size and specifications recommended for your system. Also, take note of any moisture or signs of mildew or mold on the filter – this can indicate a serious problem with your system as well as with the overall health of your home’s air. Call us at the first sign of water or mold and our NATE-certified technicians will diagnose and offer the best solutions to resolve this issue.
Vents and Returns
Many air supply vents have adjustments in the home which can be closed, and in turn, cause air flow issues. The return vents should also be clear of any obstructions like furniture, insulation, paintings, etc. Make sure there is a clear path for air flow for peak efficiency. Watch for rust on metal vents which indicates potential issues with humidity control in your system. You will want to address this immediately by calling Conditioned Air Systems for a service technician to diagnose the problem and offer the best solution for your situation.
Programmable thermostats seem daunting to many homeowners, but it is well worth your time to learn how to set it according to your specific schedule. When you are at home, your thermostat can keep your home’s temperature set to your desired level of comfort. Then, when you are away and your home is empty, you can save significantly on energy costs by programming your thermostat to run the HVAC unit less. Take the time to learn your thermostat or have one of our experienced technicians walk you through the process.
Some thermostats require batteries for proper operation. Check and replace the batteries by removing the front cover of the thermostat. A good rule of thumb is to replace your HVAC’s thermostat batteries every six months at the same time you change smoke and fire detector batteries in your home.
If the system isn’t responding to commands at the thermostat, check to see if the circuit breakers have been thrown. (Typically, there are two breakers per system.) Caution: Circuit breakers carry high voltage power and there is a shock risk. Do not attempt to remove or replace breakers unless accompanied by a trained professional.
One of the most common mistakes homeowners make is accidentally damaging the outside unit of their HVAC system. This typically happens with a lawnmower or weed trimmer. Also, tall grass, leaves, walls, and fences that block airflow to the unit can strain and cause damage to your system. It’s best to keep between 1 and 3 feet of clearance around the outdoor unit with at least 4 to 6 feet clearance overhead.
During the heating season for customers with Liquid Propane (LP) gas or oil furnaces, periodically check that your tank has fuel. We receive at least two calls every year where the tank is empty upon arrival.
Even by taking each of these steps, you are not guaranteed to pinpoint your problem, so please contact Conditioned Air Systems at 770-536-7509 for any problem and let us get you back to complete comfort ASAP.
